Hello! I'm Lisa, a teacher with years of experience in violin performance and education. I grew up in the UK where I was a student at the Royal College of Music's pre-college program in London. After attending the University of Bristol I made California my home, and have worked in education in Sonoma County for more than twenty years. As a music educator I take an eclectic approach, drawing heavily on the pedagogies of Shinichi Suzuki, Mimi Zweig and Paul Rolland, and I regularly participate in professional development trainings and workshops.
I have performed with many local orchestras and ensembles, including the Berkeley Symphony, Sonoma County Philharmonic, Ukiah Symphony, Amaryllis Piano Trio and the RosArts String Quartet, and regularly play in the pit orchestra for local theater productions. I also love exploring other genres of music and have attended jazz string workshops and fiddle camps in the US and in Europe. I play fiddle regularly for Scottish country dancing as a member of the band Flindrikin.
